My Deyes Newsletter Front Cover

This is my creation of my Deyes High newsletter front cover. It involves a sixth form student outside the school. I used Photoshop to crop and rearrange the different shapes that make up things such as; Masthead, Puff, Pugs, Titles and the main picture.

Playing With Photoshop

Before
After

Just before I begin my work on my creation of a Magazine Front Cover, Contents page and a Double Page Spread I began to have a mess around a learn basic skills when using Photoshop so I will be educated when it comes to my creation. I started with a picture of Luis Suarez from Liverpool fc surrounded by other players, the picture is imaged normal. I firstly used the magic wand tool along with the quick selection tool which allowed me to selected any given area of my choice, I then began to change the saturation of a selected area, which was the face firstly, I each needed to duplicate the layer so that I could start on another section of the picture.  That’s basically what I done throughout. I then had a creation with each part where you can see skin, was a completely different colour to the original.

Deyes Newsletter Mockups

This is my Mock up template for my Deyes High Newsletter front cover. I’ve made it pretty simply and rather simple to focus on, yet it gives each title saying the specific name of each section.

This is my mock up for my Deyes High newsletter contents page.

Rule Of Thirds

Rule of thirds is thought as dividing the focused image into 9 different sections. The middle piece being the key element you want to focus on. This picture intends to engage the selective viewer’s attention.
Balanced images are shown for when the photograph is landscape, each line gives a direct meaning and stays on such things as; cliffs and horizontal lines.
Not every scenery that is getting focused on will work, so the rule will not be complied in the same way and will have to be broken.

Deyes High Newsletter Analysis

This is my analysis of the Deyes High School newsletter. Not a lot to bring up simply because it is rather plain and not much to talk about. It needs a lot of things changing such as; colour scheme, images, headings, pugs and puffs, and to change the image of the school to either colour or produce a better more quality photograph.

Ideology & Media Vocabulary

Ideology is a study of ideas. It tends to refer in different ways people think about the world and their own way of how they live in this world. This is a little bit different from philosophy because ideology encompasses the concept of ideals are the best way.
